HALLOWEEN
You know that Halloween takes place on the last day of October. The word itself literally means “hallowed evening,” and was previously known to early European celebrators as All Hallows’ Eve. All Hallows’ Eve (October 31) and All Saints’ Day (November 1) both paid homage to saints (“hallows” = saints). The name was eventually shortened to “Halloween,” which we know and love to this day.
St. Luke’s will celebrate Halloween on Friday, Oct. 29th.
Each classroom will have a party at 2:30.
- Children are invited to bring a costume.
- Creativity is encouraged!!
- The costume must be brought to school in a bag or backpack.
- We will dress-up at about 2:15.
- NO make-up or hairsprays
- NOTHING evil or violent
- NO weapons, violent, or bloody props
God bless all of you during this beautiful fall season!
